Club La Santa has the privilege of organizing the popular International Bike Weeks, led by renowned international cyclists. The beautiful landscapes of the island offer a variety of terrains with fantastic climbing, making Lanzarote the ideal training location; few cyclists achieve the same speeds here as at home.
Training
The weeks are suitable for all levels from beginner to competitive riders. To get the most out of your cycling weeks, we try to prepare a daily ride of 2-4 hours. The routes vary in length and difficulty, taking you to the far south, through the fascinating Fire Mountains, and to the north with views over the island of La Graciosa. You can challenge yourself and test your legs on the difficult climb to Femés and on the 10km climb to Tabayesco. We divide the participants into groups, with different speeds (from 21km / h to 30 + km / h) and levels, so that everyone ends up in a suitable group.
The slowest group will drive 21 to 23 km / h. All groups will ride accompanied by a companion and a guide. During the long rides there will be breaks that will allow you to eat and drink something. Prior to the daily rides, advice is given about adjusting your bike and questions about cycling are always welcome. It is not uncommon for our participants to cover 500-600km in a week! The program also includes other activities; there are various social events with the supervisors and there is a pool tournament on one of the evenings. Each week ends with a joint dinner in one of our restaurants, where various prizes are also awarded.
